| "It is probably safe to assume that the City of Columbus is protecting the vast majority of native flora remaining in Franklin County by preserving natural areas" Jim McCormac, botanist |
Columbus City parkland is blessed with a wide variety of plants, animals, wetlands, streams, forests, prairies, waterfalls and other natural resources.
In order to protect, preserve and enhance these areas while making them more accessible to the public, the Natural Resources Section was created in 1999. The Natural Resources Section performs biological inventories, computer habitat mapping, resource management plan development, trail planning, wildflower area establishment, invasive species control and more. For more information about the Natural Resources Section, call 645-3304. Nature Preserves
